His current multi-disciplinary research program focused full spectrum of Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear Defense which interact with highly toxic chemicals, animal models, and medical/environmental countermeasures. The research crosses the boundaries of several traditional and contemporary disciplines including biomedical science, nanomedicine, and drug design.

He has been a pioneer in introducing pedagogical applications of emerging technologies to the learning and development communities through research, workshops, seminars, and consulting. Over the past 20 years, UP worked on various grant projects to design and develop Biological Science courses for higher educational institutions, technology integration programs, immersive learning environment, mobile learning activities, and international collaborative learning opportunities.
